Divergent is a book in which the point of view of the narrator (Tris, who is the principle character and protagonist of the story) does matter and affect the way the story is revealed. In other words, Tris personality and point of view changes the mood, setting, and how special events affect the whole story in Tris´ point of view. Tris has a unique personality and way of thinking among all characters in the book. This is caused because:
If I could, I would not change the point of view. I think it perfectly fits into the way the story is told. A confused teenager, who apparently is special and different than the others, in a weird society...this is an amazing combination for surprising and irrelevant events to be discovered and told! The point of view of the narrator is what gives the story a special mood of suspense and mistery. If the point of view of the story was changed, the complete story and climax would lose impact in the reader.

- Tris is just understanding what being divergent really is like, so every single event, action, or descision she makes somehow confuses her. With this I mean she is in a whole new world where she gets confused or suprised very often.
- She is a teenager and at this age it´s really common to actually have complex feelings and thoughts. Tris is experimenting this age, she´s 16.
